Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF) is an independent grant-making organization governed by a voluntary board of trustees. The Foundation was formed as a trust under Bangladesh law in September 1997 and registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau of the Government of Bangladesh in April 1998.

Bangladesh Freedom Foundation invests in programs that work towards freeing people from poverty, ignorance and oppression. The Foundation does not support any initiative or organization whose work is contrary to the principles of equality and respect for all religious, cultural and ethnic groups. It does not support any form of religious, ethnic, sectarian, racial discrimination or extremism, nor partisan political agendas.Bangladesh Freedom Foundation operates from an endowment grant provided by the Ford Foundation and welcomes collaborative grant-making with institutions that share similar goals and interests. BFF organized a ‘Motivation Training to Improve the Professional Skill of the selected Science Teachers of secondary schools of Rangpur districts on April 18-20, 2016 at Learning and Resource Center (LRC) Rangpur, in collaboration with, Debi Chowdhurani Palli Unnayan Kendra (DCPUK). Teachers’ Training College, Rangpur (RTTC) provided academic support to the program with their training and teaching resources.

Bangladesh Freedom Foundation organized a two-day long Inter School Science Fair at Uttara Campus of Scholastica from 29 to 30 January 2016. This is the fourth event of this kind in last consecutive years. Scholastica and Daily Samakal were the co-organisers of the event. A number of 180 science projects were displayed by the students of English and Bangla medium high schools of Dhaka city. Besides 5 rural schools from Nilphamary, Rajshahi and Satkhira attended the Fair for the first time.

Started on April 03, 2015, BFF-SAMAKAL National Science Debate 2015 ended its journey on August 22, 2015. The two-day long final events were held at Dhaka Residential Model College auditorium on August 21-22, 2015.  This is the biggest school debate competition where schools from all 64 districts of Bangladesh have their participation. BFF and The Daily SAMAKAL are jointly organizing this event every year. The major objective of this contest is to promote and popularize science through the participation of higher secondary students at a debate contest across the country.

A number of 520 high schools of 64 districts participated in this contest. After the district and divisional level contest, Champions of divisional level and Dhaka metropolitan city contested at the final round. KishorganjS V Government Girls’ High School team won the championship defeating Sirajganj B. L Government High School Team in the final. Hasan Tasneem Salehin, team leader of Sirajganj B. L Government High School Team was awarded as the best debator. Other semifinalist teams were Motijheel ideal School , Dhaka and Khulna Zilla School. The champion team was awarded with a champion trophy, individual medal and individual laptop.
